She/I/me went Natural
So I went natural. I haven't relaxed or texlaxed my hair since my last real post (more than a year ago).
I transitioned by getting a press (hot comb and flat iron) in July which probably did more damage to my hair but I was itching to get one so #YOLO and I did.
Anyways, after that I got a weave which I started to hate after 2 weeks. I stopped caring of it and started looking like a mad woman.
Fast forward to September, I gave my mum a pair of scissors and asked her perform the 'big chop' on my hair. Major flash back to September 1999, the first time I got a big chop on my way to secondary school.
I am fully natural now and I'm loving the shorter length of hair but having a tough time applying my relaxed hair regimen to my new natural hair. My regimen is however much simpler and less paranoid (no need trying every new fad from aloe juice to black tea and apple cider vinegar to 'excuse' the damage by chemicals).
Even though I'm still open to being relaxed again, I needed to connect with my roots again (pun) and truly feel liberated.

Texlaxed
I did a self-relaxer (texturized) with ORS Olive Oil relaxer and rinse out before the required time.
I just wanted to avoid over-processing (frying-ha what we called it in secondary school) my fragile hair and limit the damage. I had some backup neutralizing shampoo (in addition to the little sachet shampoo in the kit) so I shampooed 4 times- leaving the shampoo in for 2 minutes each time before rinsing.
I deep conditioned with the ORS Pak for protein and did a ACV rinse (Apple Cide Vinegar) afterwards. I air dried overnight. I actually don't own a dryer at the moment (I plan to keep air drying anyway). Neither do I own a flat iron- because I just moved and threw away all my old tools while packing. Away with the old!
So I have to get a flat iron or something. Anyway, this is what it looked like after deep conditioning.

Texlax
I faced my 'demons' and decided going natural was to drastic and wasn't me at all.
So I'm texlaxing using Jenny of JustGrowAlready's method.
Now if I can find a relaxer in Utah....

Au Naturel
I haven't gotten a touch up relaxer since last July/August. After my braids and subsequent weave, I decided to go natural.I highly doubt being natural is permanent, I just miss my natural texture of hair which is borderline nightmarish to imagine managing but I am all about new deep experiences that will connect me with my roots (pun intended).
I intend to grow my natural hair out and eventually get a texturizer or something. No black hair salons in Utah (where I recently moved) talk less of natural hair salons so the temptation of relaxing is jarring.
Now the big issue is whether to big chop or just keep stretching. The breakage is not funny and my broom is not smiling at all the hair on my floor. Sweeping is not desirable.
So I'm super conflicted :]
