She/I/me went Natural
So I went natural. I haven't relaxed or texlaxed my hair since my last real post (more than a year ago).
I transitioned by getting a press (hot comb and flat iron) in July which probably did more damage to my hair but I was itching to get one so #YOLO and I did.
Anyways, after that I got a weave which I started to hate after 2 weeks. I stopped caring of it and started looking like a mad woman.
Fast forward to September, I gave my mum a pair of scissors and asked her perform the 'big chop' on my hair. Major flash back to September 1999, the first time I got a big chop on my way to secondary school.
I am fully natural now and I'm loving the shorter length of hair but having a tough time applying my relaxed hair regimen to my new natural hair. My regimen is however much simpler and less paranoid (no need trying every new fad from aloe juice to black tea and apple cider vinegar to 'excuse' the damage by chemicals).
Even though I'm still open to being relaxed again, I needed to connect with my roots again (pun) and truly feel liberated.
